Off The Charts!

Caleb turned 8 weeks on Monday. He had his two month checkup this week. The nurse and the doctor both informed me that my son is off the growth charts. Actually, his head is right in the middle, but the rest of his measurements are just way out there. What else should I expect when his daddy is 6'4"? Anyway, he now weighs 14 pounds and 7 ounces. He is a grand total of 25 1/2 inches long. That would explain why some of his three to six month clothes are too short. He is adorable regardless.

He likes to suck on his hand during tummy time and is smiling and playing more and more all the time. It is so much fun to see. He also experienced his first Sunday at Church. He did very well, but I was a bit tearful having to leave him with people he did not know. It all worked out in the end.

Karla and the boys came for dinner one night recently. Amber and Cody came too. I made some of Tricia's famous lasagna. Yummy. The boys particularly loved being able to hold caleb. Jake even got to feed him. Hopefully, we can get the entire Duplechain crew together the next time. I still don't have a picture of Uncle Brian with him yet.

This was Caleb's first Sunday outfit.

He is a wiggly worm!

Fun With My Son

My sweet son will be 7 weeks old Monday. He weighs 13.10 pounds. As I sat in the doctor's office, I noticed another baby boy that looked to be Caleb's size. He was sitting up and batting at toys on his mother's lap. I believe he was around six months. I can hardly imagine what Caleb will look like at six months. He will definetly look older! I am sure of that. Ha.

I can not tell you how much fun I am having with my little man. It tickles me to watch him learn new things and see him grow. He changes daily! I look forward to being there to witness and be apart of all his "firsts". Right now he is smiling and cooing more and more. He responds and gives me his oh so sweet little grin that just makes my heart happy. We have a great time together.

Rocky and Bullwinkle seem to be curious about him. They want to see what is going on at all times. They are surprisingly gentle with him. They lick his face and sniff his diaper every now and then, but other than that, they are sweet to him. I am so thankful for that! Here are few more pictures of my beautiful boy.
Rocky and Bullwinkle are always in the middle of whatever we are doing.

We were singing "The Wheels On The Bus". He likes it!

Johnson family visit

Why am I underlining everything?? Good question. I didn't want it to do this. In fact, I don't even see where I could choose the underline option. The computer decided for me. Obviously, I am stuck and once again, I can not fix it. It keeps wanting to type in blue too, but I do know how to change that. HA!!

On to the real reason I am blogging today. Caleb's Aunt Tina and Uncle Chris came to visit with his Papa Dude and all the cousins (Sarah, Lisa, Matthew and Daniel). They really enjoyed seeing Caleb for the first time. Aunt Tina got as much cuddle time in as she possibly could. She had to fight off Lisa and Sarah for him, but I think they all got some time in eventually. The boys were excited to see him too, but wanted to know when he could walk so they could play with him. I think they will have to wait a while. Hehee.

The boys also met our puppies for the first time. They were a bit afraid at first, but that soon was overcome and they proceded to love and play with the dogs until they were all exhausted. It was much fun to see them all playing so well. The kids (and men) played a good bit of Wii too. Putt Putt is always a fun favorite. Matthew is as cute as can be. Every time he makes it in the whole he "wins".

It was a great weekend and I have lots of pictures to show for it. Heehee. Can't wait until we can all do it again.

Can you tell they are so proud to see him? He is one lucky little boy.

All About Caleb

Caleb is growing like a weed. I am constantly packing away clothes that are already too small. Yesterday, I actually put him in a 3-6 month outfit. He will be five weeks tomorrow! At this rate he will go through all the clothes I have bought him before the middle of summer. He hasn't even worn some of the outfits that are now packed away. It saddens me a little.

He is learning to smile in repsonse to our smiles. That is his latest skill. It is so much fun! And no it is not gas. I made sure of that. Although, he does fart a lot!!!! He actually loves to play while laying on his changing table. He kicks and screams while he is being changed, but when we are finished, he has a ball. When he is having a fussy period, I bring him to the changing table and he starts cooing and waving his arms, having a grand ol' time. I have yet figure out what is so nice about it, but I am all for whatever works!

I like to sing to him. We sing "If You Are Happy And You Know It". I think he really enjoys it. Of course, I do all the motions in a very dramatic way. Who wouldn't love looking at a crazy woman going on and on. Haha. I love it and will continue to do it until my sweet boy is old enough to know mommy can't sing at all!!! Eventually, I am sure he ask my not to, just as my little newphews have done in the past. For now, we sing. I also sing the old favorite "Jesus Loves Me" when it is time to put him to sleep. However, I am not sure about the second verse, so it changes daily. Haha. I guess I should figure that out before too long. Jon wants to teach him songs too, but they are not so innocent. He laughs and says that we will have the only two year old that sings "Jesus Loves Me" and "Free Bird". We will see about that!

He likes his baths. I was afraid he would hate it, but he seems to enjoy them well enough. He gets a bath every couple of days or so. Yesterday, He had a bath and all was going great until I started to take him out. I heard this blast of a fart and then I saw what had shot out with it. He continued to poop right there. I hurriedly put him on the first thing I could and waited for him to finish. He didn't exactly like being held over the tub for a second washing, but I have to say I was quick about it. We were both fine and one swaddler was quickly put in the wash for cleaning.

At one month, he can't do a whole lot. It doesn't matter. I could sit and watch his hair grow! He is just that adorable to me. By the way, I think he may end up with my curly hair. It is already wanting to curl. It flattens out to some extent when it is dried, but not completely. It kind of lays flat and sticks up at the ends! I don't know when his hair is supposed to fall out and change, but we will see what becomes of it as he grows.

On an entirely different note, I have not figured out how to correct my blogs. So, the one or two of you reading it, just ignore all the mistakes. Spelling is a weakness. My typing is worse. Technology trumps them both when it comes to weaknesses. I put off doing a blog for these reasons, but Tricia and Victoria won the battle in the end. You can thank them! Haha.
